Finally managed to get FGM up and running on a real IC Markets True ECN account on all 9 supported pairs at 0.01 fixed lot size initially.THIS EA WILL NOT WORK ON A WINDOWS 2008 VPS!After swapping to my Windows 2003 vps I was able to activate the license manager and validate the license. Here is the myfxbook link to the live real account.http://www.myfxbook.com/members/jonpearce/forex-gold-machine/382309
How do you mean by 9 supported pairs. I don't see any evidence on their website that the 9 pairs they say the EA can trade on are profitable in the long run, only that is can trade any pair. Without a visual backtest proof of this, how do you know that the other pairs are profitable in the long run, sounds like more of a guess to me.Quote from: jonpearce on September 10, 2012, 05:40:30 amFinally managed to get FGM up and running on a real IC Markets True ECN account on all 9 supported pairs at 0.01 fixed lot size initially.THIS EA WILL NOT WORK ON A WINDOWS 2008 VPS!After swapping to my Windows 2003 vps I was able to activate the license manager and validate the license. Here is the myfxbook link to the live real account.http://www.myfxbook.com/members/jonpearce/forex-gold-machine/382309
The original version they sent me specified 9 supported pairs in the user guide. I am assuming the latest version they sent me works on the same 9 pairs.FGM is running on a $200 real account trading 0.01 lots. The vendor gave me a copy of FGM and a full license to live forward test and review on an EA review website. We only conduct live forward tests on small real money accounts.Should you wish to backtest on the 9 supported currency pairs as per Jeffs' previous post I would be most interested in your results, should you wish to share them.Meanwhile I will continue making available the live forward test results for those interested.Quote from: timetotrade on September 10, 2012, 08:16:31 amHow do you mean by 9 supported pairs. My point is this, without a backtest for all the pairs besides eurusd then how do we now that the EA is suited on them. What ever forward test revels is worthless., because short term results do not mean to much. If the vendor is supporting all 9 pairs, then they should at least provide us all some visual backtest to at least demonstrate that the pairs they support do make money in the long run, so why do they not do this.Like i said i have backtest on eurusd for the last 12 years and it is was very profitable with low DD. However since i do not have good long term data for the other pairs they mention, i can not backtest long term. I have done some short term backtest on several of the other pairs they mentioned and it was not good. All lost money.I am not saying the EA is no good, because it looks very good on the eurusd based on my tests and i would even consider running it on my live account. But for the other pairs i certainly would not, no matter what the forward trades show.If someone can provide a long term backtest for the other pairs and show it is profitable, then that would be good. If not then i would not run it live on the other pairs besides eurusd for now.Quote from: jonpearce on September 10, 2012, 08:25:39 amThe original version they sent me specified 9 supported pairs in the user guide. Great to know the EU backtest shows it to be profitable Why not just run a backtest on the other supported pairs?Quote from: timetotrade on September 10, 2012, 09:42:44 am My point is this, without a backtest for all the pairs besides eurusd then how do we now that the EA is suited on them.
