Josef, would you mind to verify your account? Is it real or demo?

The account is verified.
Follow the link http://www.mt4i.com/users/ea-shark-7/stats?startdate=2012/5/18&rx=1338887939656#overview and click at "statement" button and you'll see it:

And by the way, Shark7 made some more pips while I was asleep  :)

Josef

Just bought Shark and trying to set up. Can someone tell me how to set the volumn filter for armada markets? The manual is not that clear. Thank you in advance

Josef, Tradenow mentioned earlier that a 2 pip SL isn't the reality.

When i look at your statement, i see losses greater than 2 pips but smaller than 4 pips which i'm guessing are due to movements of the SL a little slower than the price.

But i also see that on 17 May there's a loss of 25 pips followed by a loss of 17 pips, and 8 pips on 1 June.

I know you disabled the volume and spread filters on 17 May, but still, why are the losses so large, and what accounts for the 8 pip loss on 1 June?

i can't believe anyone trades this thing, ever since seeing they hardcoded dates into the backtest on the last shark.

Josef backtested this thing with shifted data to make sure there are no hidden dates in the code.

After 35 years of forex trading, still a newbie here? goodness gracious
 :P   8)

The claim that an EA is able to place stops at a distance of 2 pips to the market is irrealistic. More irrealistic even when the claim is that the stop is 2 pips off the entry price. That is grey theorie, dark grey.

What do you think happens with the equity providers? You think they let this stop stand where it is? It is not a broker thing. The market behaves this way. 2 pips, even 3 to 5 pips, is within the range of market noise.
There are investors who only invest in forex arbitrage - meaning: The chasing of stops and limits close to or around actual market, all done by the big hedge funds. No matter what anyone says: Stops placed by traders are seen in the books and can be "chased", rest assured, they WILL BE CASHED, there is no easier money to be made for the equity/hedge funds.
Try in a quiet market where prices move weakly - say up. Try to sell now, expecting a correction. All you do is driving the market higher. You are selling, the liquidity is buying. THEIR money is to sell it higher - so the price WILL head higher and your open loss is mounting..... As soon as you hit your stop, the opposite happens. The liquidity is selling to you on that stop and their money is again to cover their position by buying it lower... and you are losing your hair because now your profit target would have been hit, right??? Such is this fickle market - and the rule of engagement.
The only shot you got with such an EA is in a strong moving, one-directional market if and when your lucky enough to enter at the beginning of the move. ...and maybe, only maybe, if you're able to run this with an instant- or no-gap-trailstop. Such a trailstop must start as soon as bid is higher than the asking price of the long, and vice versa for short, when ask is lower than the entry price for short, therefore making your entry price the first stop price. Now it would be nice to have an EA that detects the next strong move in one direction, say 20 to 50 pips with no retracement...... Such a trailstop is a hidden tool, can't be seen...  there is no stop...  it just gets activated the way I described and then it's too late to chase it.

I don't want to comment on the differences of "live" accounts that are in fact demo accounts. The only thing counting are results from a funded "live" account, funded with REAL money. A REAL account in other words. "Verified" results from a demo are meaningless.
You simply can't depend on back testing, except for getting an idea whether the EA MIGHT be working. Market behavior changes often from week to week, and worse, day to day. That is something you won't ever be able to optimize.
I am looking forward to ANY live, REAL LIVE, account statement with results of a few months. The possible banking of 5 to 10% a week seems out of this world to me and plain theory for now.
