Mt4 Build 418 and EA's

It seems MetaQuotes have conceded there is a problem in build 418 and are hoping to release a "fix within a few days".

I have successfully downloaded a generic build 409 and this is working fine.

To do the same:-

Close your MT4.
Backup your entire MT4 folder (just in case!).
Get a generic 409 terminal.exe and load it over the top of the 418 version.
Rename LiveUpdate.exe to NoLiveUpdate.exe to stop the automatic update from functioning.
Open MT4.

After Metaquotes has fixed the problem, you will need to rename NoLiveUpdate.exe back to LiveUpdate.exe so future updates will work.

Please, where can we download a generic 409?

Go to http://www.metaquotes.net/en/metatrader4/news/3722 and download the mt4setup routine.

Then run the setup program into a NEW folder.

Then you can extract the terminal.exe file.

My EAs seem to have loaded fine.  Can we trade with 418 if there doesn't seem to be issues?

i updated 5 live accounts to 418 with all sorts of eas.
only m78 needed a total new installation of mt4 after update.
All other eas iam using loaded fine without an error.
here the list of eas:

WSFR
Windfall 3.0
TomsEa
Topbot 1.0
Megadroid
ForexThor
Shark latest build
Sigma latest build
StatArb v2.5
Hyper v2.2
Blackbelt v2.0
Magic-ChampII Pro

So all systems are GO!

This is more for my curiousity than anything. Are there special items built into specific broker terminals (e.g. code for faster execution on pepperstone razor server for pepper razor terminal) or it's all the same (i.e. generic mt4 terminal can be applied to any installed broker mt4)?

If that is the case, why do different brokers even need different mt4's?

because they implement their gremlins to avoid you to make too much money...

The problem is with the transfer and return of "double" types of numerics from dlls. If your EA does not use these it may work OK.

But some EAs can seem to work OK but will only (say) take buy trades or may exhibit other problems which are not immediately noticeable.

As MetaQuotes are aware of the problem and will hopefully fix it shortly, I am not prepared to take the risk personally. But Forex can be a risky game so if you are a gambler by all means go ahead and use 418.

yes thats true but sometimes you have directly problems with loading.
we will see this week if all is ok. i hate those frequently updates....

Build 416 has run perfectly for me, so I'm sticking with that one for the time being until I'm assured there are no issues with 418.

You'd have thought the Metatrader folks would have tested the new version thoroughly before releasing it?

This has happened before though. Do you remember the infamous build 226? Still, you can't test everything I suppose.

Yes its a mess....
I applied my last snapshot of my vps and now all is back to normal. 
SO DONT UPDATE TO 418!!
