I upgraded to FE3.13 today (in demo).
Long cycles is no problem, but when I attach the short cycles to a graph I keep getting the following problem:
for the first one or two that I attach it runs fine, but as soon as I try to load the third pair, CPU usage rises to over 50% constantly.
And it keeps giving the message: "authent. succesfull; the chart will update after the incoming tick". It stays like that for hours.
When I then try to load the fourth, the cpu usage goes to 100%.
Removing the FE from the fourth chart (that does not get uploaded) reduces the cpu usage again to first around 50%, and after removing the third one cpu usage becomes normal again (very low).
It looks like trying to update from the server loads the cpu very heavily.
Bottom line: it is not possible to load more then 2 pairs in short cycles.
have other users this problem also?

I kept getting impatient and killing it.  What I found works is open the MT4 with all the charts loaded.  Your CPU will go to 100%.  Leave it for maybe 5-10 minutes and come back.  For me, it settled down after an initial "load" time.

To the other poster above:  yes I've had a gap on my HotForex demo at open.  Also that large EURUSD basket from last week closed this afternoon for me on Tradefort but not yet on Hotforex (still in DD on Hotforex).  Possibly Hotforex is not looking like a great broker for Envy v3.

The large EURUSD basket did not close on TradeFort for me, but it closed on InstaForex. That is pretty sensitive to the starting time/price of your basket and doesn't say very much about the broker quality (in my opinion at least).

I got the 100% CPU usage earlier. Last time I checked the task manager Im pretty sure I only have 4 terminal.exe running. When I checked again, I had no idea why it became 5 and one of them is causing the 100% usage.

Reboot and all is well again.

The long cycle EURUSD basket is still open on my instaforex, I hope it close soon.

Yes that's right, sorry I forgot that detail.  If you look in taskmanager there is an extra terminal.exe running that will be occupying 100% cpu.  If you kill that one you should see none of your "real" MT4s will close and the CPU usage goes back to normal.

I also have a basket for 2.16 lots. It should not be any problem if it dont reach its target for 1.22346 , If eurusd drop 100 pips more from opening position at 1.22746 and it open new position with 4.32 lots it start to look like something and will be very profitable basket. It can even go further 100 pips down from there again before I will feel it is exciting ;) . I run with the recomnded settings from TE.

To take advantage of the 3.0 Demo Server provided News Filter with 2.1 Shorts,
we can observe the 3.0 News Filters and move them across to our Live 2.1 Accounts.

2.1 Short FATPScheduler settings (GMT),
adjust for your Server GMT time off set.
Based on latest 3.0 News Filter times.

EURUSD: 08:00 Wed On, 20:00 Wed Off
GBPUSD: 08:00 Wed On, 20:00 Wed Off
EURJPY:   13:00 Wed On, 06:00 Thur Off.

This will NOT be a regular event.
I have no desire to help non licensed Envy users.
If you are a licensed Envy user and testing 3.0,
this may help you to improve your 2.1 Shorts On/Off timings for better profit and less risk.

Hello BB,

I'm running both 3.0 and 2.1, I couldn't find the news server schedule as u mentioned, all I got is email from FE. It would be great if we could find out the news filter settings from 3.0 and mimick it back to 2.1 accurately

He means look at your 3.0 short cycle demo charts.  The news info is printed on the chart.   ;)

Here is a tip for Advanced Envy users that can help to reduce Big Basket Stress:

Sometimes the Retrace is not enough to trigger the BTP.
But it is Big Enough to take the Last and sometimes Next to Last Basket Trade into Profit.
So what to do?

1) Work out the BTP of the Last / Biggest Basket Trade.
2) Manually close out all the Basket Trades that are in Profit.
3) Manually set the TP of the now last trade = It's Open Price + BTP.
4) Adjust the SL a few Digits.
5) Execute that Order Modify.
6) Watch as Envy updates the rest of the Baskets TP to that of the biggest Trade.

Ok does not close out the Whole Basket.
BUT drags in Profit from the Big End Of the Basket.
Reduces Basket Level by 1 or 2 Levels.
Helps to build the Equity to handle Big Baskets.
It works and works well.
Have used it many times.

PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.

Just took a Level 10 EURJPY Long Basket to Level 9 on my 2.1 Live Account and

 MADE MONEY

in the Process.

You can call this the BB BRPM (Basket Reduction with Profit Move)

Hey this is fun.
Just sliced a EURUSD Level 9 to Level 8 and MADE MONEY.

These trades are easy to find.
Just click on the Profit Column in the Trade Window to sort by the individual trade profit/loss.
Good hunting and Basket Level Chopping with PROFIT.

Thanks, even if I dont understand as I am a new user
Does it concern Envy 2 or 3 ?
Does it concern only short cycles?
Will these complicate measures be automatic (or by default) on next versions of Envy?
In theory a good EA must be as automatic as possible and as good on defaults settings as possible
Thanks !
I offer private EA at MAM at regulated broker from 5k$ investment. 15% average/mo, 15% max DD, have verified Myfxbook available. Losses usually quickly recovered... contact me... If you have BIG investor to introduce me, reward for you...

Hi, I'm still spending my time reading this forum (and others) before I take the plunge and the information (and time) everyone is putting in is being really helpful.

Sorry if this has already been addressed, however I noticed a few comments from people regarding Margin Calls.

Are people using the "Bail out Percentage" option to reduce the working capital, which I would think should help prevent Margin Calls? Or is this a waste of capital and not really going to achieve what we want?

Cheers,

Is there an easier way to move my MT4 for Envy from one VPS to another without having to setup all the charts from scratch? Can I just copy the Profiles and Experts folder from the MT4 on the old VPS to the new one?

EURJPY Long Level 10 created again.
Nice to know when you made the right call, that the Retrace was WEAK.  :)  ;)

Have been experimenting with this a while ago, didnt wanna tell anyone cause I know I will get a slap on the wrist  ;D

It does work but like you say it can really mess things up if youre not careful.

I just killed level 14 with good profit, re adjust TP/SL for level 13 and now its back to level 14 and ready to make profit again (I hope)

It can really make good profit just need to practice more to make sure I dont blow an account.

Thanks for bringing this up, I though I was the only one doing something Im not supposed to :-X

Close mt4, browse to the main metatrader folder (probably in C:\program files) and right click on it and choose send to compressed (zipped) folder. Then just copy and paste the zipped folder to your new VPS or email it to yourself and download it to the new VPS. Put it in program files or wherever suits, create a shortcut to the terminal file to put on your VPS desktop and you're done

Just be careful Chris that the Retrace is a WEAK one.
Don't want to blow doing this with a STRONG Retrace that would have taken out the whole Basket.

Yeah I realised that, its good fun learning all these. I guess some people buy a car and just drive it normally day to day, other would push it to the limit.
