The Thor system did an amazing job this week. My monthly performance target is already reached. And that after three trading days :).

Every true ECN/STP broker will do lxboston but be careful with Pepperstone. I know from clients that they like to freeze prices and do other funny things when the market is moving fast.

Last session lost money, especially on FXPIG and FXOPEN, for both broker account execution time OVER 30 SECOND...

I am using only CORE 1

I am sorry to hear that. 30 seconds execution time is really @*$%#. Anybody else experienced problems with execution time?
Regards,
Josef

My results for Aug 2 were totally different than the rest of you.  I'm using a VPS through FXCM.  The only thing in common was that I also had three trades.

    2012.08.02    13:01    B    1.21898    13:01    S    1.21878    -2.0 pips
    2012.08.02    12:34    S    1.23695    12:34    B    1.23746    -5.1 pips
    2012.08.02    12:10    S    1.23374    12:11    B    1.23371    -0.1 pips

Is it my broker or is there something I can do in the settings?  How do I find my execution times?
Thanks

Hello m2invest,
i am sorry to hear that.

To be frank, i am afraid it is a problem with the broker. Sure, FXCM is a well known, regulated and large brokerage firm but defenitely not the right broker for scalping.

Execution time can be viewed in the log files. Where to find them is described in the user manual.

Hi Alexander,

Any possibilities to forward test this EA before buying? I'm not a big fan of backtests.

All the best,

Ville

I have just started Thor on my account.  We will see how it does.  My first trade was a small loser unfortunately.  If the program would have hung on, it would have turned profitable but it closed out the trade early...

Hi Alexander,

I'm curious why you say that. FXCM's No Dealing Desk forex execution means our business model is based on trading volume, and therefore we welcome scalpers.

Plaintiff, William H. Sanders, just like thousands of other customers, was lured into transacting business with Defendant, FXCM, buying and selling foreign currencies in what is known as the foreign exchange (“Forex”) market, but little did Sanders, or any of the others, know that FXCM intended to, and did, systematically bilk them out of their account money through an elaborate scheme of fraudulent tricks, devices, and artifices.

In 2007, I opened an account with FXCM. I mainly traded news releases, but I wasn't able to make any profits on the FXCM account because price froze during news releases and many of my pending orders were ignored.

In 2010, I opened another account which I used for short-term trading. The first couple of weeks everything was ok but after that I had to deal with an unusual high number of re-quotes, off quotes and slippage and execution time increased dramatically.

However, I also have to say that FXCM have a lot of potential. Own ECN, bombastic volume, probably own matching machine ?, access to liquidity venue's other brokers can only dream of, etc...

Unfortunately the trading conditions FXCM offers are suboptimal and unsuitable  for short-term trading and scalping.

Regards,
Alexander
