This seems like something interesting.  Work on pattern recognition!

Fully understand the various doubts that come to our minds when ever we are hit by a new bot coming to market.

I was part of the developers beta test program - been in regular correspondence with  the developer for well over three months now. They are outsourcing all the backend work like customer support, sales and marketing to a professional third party firm specializing in backend operations. Only tech support is handled by the developers directly. This may be a good model for streamlining this industry!

The PreLaunch page is actually good - gives good enough info about the robot. They have informed that the forward and live tests will be displayed on the launch day. Much better that countdown timers for the launch!!

Good luck everyone!

PS: .... and yes - I am an affiliate for some EA products that I believe will work....  So forgive if my comments are biased, but will try to give away as many facts as I can possibly gather.

So why can't they show their tests already so that we can investigate and make up our minds before they open for sales?  By not doing this they actually encourage some negative thoughts!

Not that we need much encouragement to think negatively about a new EA  :)

I do not think the product has been promoted so far directly by them. It is normal for most marketing campaigns to keep most things under wrap - it does not make much meaning in fixing up a launch day if everything is already disclosed.

***removed info re affiliate sales***. I have been informed that affiliate and marketing invitations will be sent out next week.  Most review sites will start test on launch date or maybe the next day.

Free updates for one year only?  How much do they cost after the year has passed?  You should have unlimited free updates.

Hi Meg

Yes, all EA updates are free for the first year.

After this the user can choose to upgrade at a discounted rate - Members are offered a hefty discount since we will not incur cost of marketing, sales commission, etc.

This enables us to meet the support and product development costs on a continued basis.

Free Updates for life time is not a feasible and will not make business sense. Support staff and product development are a recurring cost.

In most cases all major updates will be done by the first year. Users will be able to continue using the software without need to purchase an upgrade after the first year. Support will be free for the life time of the software.

Thanks and best regards,

PhiBase Sales Team

Not a good start, software will now be delivered tomorrow. Looks like the developer has an all nighter ahead of him.

Many other EA's manage to offer free updates and even after a less expensive outlay. The compensation comes from continuing sales which will happen if the updates keep it working. Better in my opinion to charge the appropriate amount upfront so customers are not "taxed" yearly for updates that may be offered after sustained periods of poor performance leaving customers feeling obligated to protect their initial outlay by throwing good money after bad.

I believe in a different approach.

Charge a small monthly fee with no upfront purchase price. This allows customers to use the EA for a low cost, keep paying if it works for them or not if it doesn't.

The fee will cover updates, maintenance and support.

An EA is like a car with a high purchase price, potentially massive running costs and usually 100% depreciation in a short time.

My approach is like leasing the car with fixed costs so the risk is, in comparison, very low.

Most EAs are sold with an upfront purchase price because the vendor wants his money before you find out how bad the EA is. Then, when your complaints and queries are unanswered, what are you going to do? The vendor can then reappear using a different name & website and do it all over again.

From reading this forum and seeing the number of new EAs popping up daily, a lot of members are spending a fortune on the "latest and greatest" EAs then dumping them when they don't do what it said on the tin. Very sad.

I think if any EA makes it to 12 months and therefore gets a renewal fee they have probably well deserved it. Although i imagine the vendor will get a lot of auto-renewals from people who forgot all about it too, which is not good. I'd just mark my calendar for 11 months time to make sure i cancel that fee - it will be very obvious after 11 months whether it is worth paying for or not.
