All I will say is make the best with what you got, if that still dont work bin it at least until the next update comes out. Someone has already used this quote on this forum but I believe it fits perfectly here -

Albert Einstein - "Insanity is doing the same thing, over and over again, but expecting different results."

I'm mostly happy with the latest update, since it came out my accounts have 150 and 200 pips respectively.

--- Quote from: maciejburno on August 23, 2012, 02:54:18 pm ---Because 'turning off the non-profitable pairs' and 'updating system' to last month market performance is simply a curve fitting. Just because a pair did not work for the past 2-3 months does not mean it will not work this way in the long term.

I am using the same EA without major updating for over 8 months now. If i switch in the middle of my life test because 'new updated strategy works' will completely null my tests. I liked what I saw in the backtest last year and it was the decision I am running this EA live.

And btw, if I look at the last 8 months of continuous trading - every single pair is in negative zone currently, but overall dd is still acceptable, so I continue scalper for the next 4 months and conclude my finding here.

I was hoping for more, much more from this EA.

Sorry if my post offended, I trade to make money not test ea's

I trade to make money too, and testing EA's is part of the process. I do not fail for empty promises, by my own personal forward testing. Testing accounts are not large in size - anything between $500 to $3000 for a year for specific EA or EA portfolio. If they meet my expectation - I move them to my larger accounts, if not, I shelve them and forget about them.

If you simply trade EA without doing your detailed homework, you eventually will end up burning all your money. Go donate instead, at least you help someone other than greedy bankers.  Trusting review sites too much is also not advisable, they must somehow survive and you can figure what are ways to do it.

Let's please stay on the topic. Your post had nothing to do with EA or added absolutely nothing to the discussion.

Trading well means trading smart, knowing your risk, good money management and very solid knowledge of your tools and market conditions. Trading EA and looking only on a scale of 1-3 months is nonsense - how many times you've seen EA performing great, everyone decides on purchasing it to only go into huge DD, which cause panic, people start refunding or stop trading just to see EA going back to new highs? It happens. When I decide to test EA, I give it initial 6 months of testing, if the results are satisfactory (or at least we are not in large DD,) I extend testing for another 6 months. Few months ago you can read my post that I am extending testing on this baby.

Now, before I end this, let me tell you how I deal with upgrades. If EA changes dramatically to the point that 2 versions different dramatically of the way of trading, I would test them separately as 2 different EAs. Curve fitting is bad and will never make your EA profitable over long time.

Your post was not offending, perhaps I never precisely stated the importance of testing ea in and out for extended period of time before you put it trust with your hard cash. The main reason many traders fail is because they are not patient - they not wait for good trades, rush to trade, or even rush to try every single EA and see what happens. :)

You lost 283 pips with Master Scalper today? I run it on two small accounts and one only lost 19 pips today and yet made 23 pips for the week. The other account lost 6 pips today and made 21 for the week. I trade using default settings on all recommended pairs except the EURCHF. Also no Breakout Hunter.

Yes - the older version, unchanged since January 1st. The newer version is also being tested, separately on different account, but too early for me to make any statements. Funny is, earlier versions seem better in the long run but with larger DD. Newer version did not have such a negative hit last night.

For those that upgraded, at least you did not lose almost 300 pips last night :).

Max_001:
