First you need to find the web link/URL to your image (it has to be on the net, not from your hard drive).
Example to get my logo showing... which is at http://www.donnaforex.com/forum/Themes/celeste_1/images/smflogo.png

we put the link inside the IMG tag (you don't need to type the IMG tag out or remember it, it's in the toolbar next to the youtube icon on the screen where you compose your message, just click it). The code looks like this in your message:

which when it is published, gives:
