Had a message from IGIndex today saying they are reducing the deposit factor for currency pairs. Thought this would be a good time to also start a new topic for anyone who wants to discuss IGIndex. Any IG traders out there? I've been with these guys for many years and they offer a HUGE range of markets to trade, and are a very large (i think the largest) spreadbet firm. I've been pretty pleased with them, although if you ask for access to their charting package (which is excellent in my opinion) you have to watch out otherwise you get stung for £30 a month charge unless you make a couple of trades each month.

They don't offer MT4 platform as far as i know.

www.igindex.co.uk

email from IGIndex:

We’ve significantly reduced the initial outlay needed to spread bet on our ten major FX pairs by lowering deposit factors:
FX Pair             Previous Deposit Factor        New Deposit Factor
EUR/USD             100                                       65
GBP/USD        100   80
AUD/USD         100   50
USD/JPY          100   40
EUR/JPY       100   55
EUR/GBP      100   40
EUR/CHF         200   45
USD/CHF      100   65
USD/CAD     250   50
GBP/JPY       300   65

These new, lower requirements are part of our Tiered Deposit system, which works out how much deposit is needed based on your aggregate position.

The lowest deposit rates are available on Tier 1 of the system, which, with EUR/GBP at current prices, for example, could give you exposure to the equivalent of over £5million for less than half the previous deposit.

If you regularly spread bet on forex markets, make sure you visit the new Forex Focus section of our website, which now features real-time charts and live updates from our team of analysts.

And if you have any questions about this, or any other aspect of our service, please contact helpdesk@igindex.co.uk or call us on 0800 409 6789.

Kind regards

They are a brilliant spreadbetting broker which I have used for last 6 yrs. In fact they are my first ever broker and I am still with them.

If you think your trade wasn't closed (during speedy mkt moves etc)and went into loss or whatever  you give their helpdesk call they look at the trade and put the money into your account straightaway.

Unfortunately they do not suport MT4 which is a pitty.  So, no EAs! etc.  Only for any other strategies like manual trading.

IG Index were my first broker as well. But I stopped trading with them a few years ago because they had no plans to support MT4.

IMO MT4 is essential so I ignore brokers who do not support the platform regardless of how good they are in other respects.

Yes, i noticed their increases. They are fast becoming inaccessible for anyone who wants to trade with reasonable (low) risk on an account smaller than $5k - $10k.  Still my favourite spreadbet company though  8)

IG were great when I used them - out of curiosity, what are the new minimum stakes?

Tradefair are brilliant, utilise the same infrastructure (and I'd go out on a limb, and say same back-end architecture) as LMAX. Worth checking out.

Many traders traded with IGIndex but they need to include communication with MT4. That is the want of many traders.

The same here, used couple of years, but left couple of years. I think I still have an account with Zero deposit.   Only use for some shares  trading 8)
