John,  8:30 NY, DST, is now 12:30 GMT.

I don't know what Alpari GMT offset is ? ...but you need to add it to 12:30 GMT.

hope this helps !.. :)

I have just returned from a trip and now find that in addition to the clock change from GMT to summertime the Alpari time has changed from GMT + 2 to GMT +3.

Can anyone please confirm that in the UK the New York 08:30 opening time trade should be plus 5 hours (13:30) to allow for regional difference less 1 hour (12:30) to allow for for GMT and plus 3 hours Alpari time to make 15:30 current UK time?

if your broker is GMT +3 offset, then you should set FMT at 15:30 (12:30 +3) for 8:30 NY start time.

good luck !. :)

Thanks for the verification, I'm sure that readers in other time zones will also find this information useful to confirm their settings.

I`m pretty new to this game but learning fast and I have a question for those folks that do backtesting for this EA. I use Alpari UK as a broker and I accept that there is a GMT +3 offset which must be taken into account when setting up the EA.
My question however is about the optimized times displayed when doing backtesting. Are these times already Alpari UK time (GMT +3) or do I have to adjust these optimized times in some way when I plug them back into the EA?
Hopefully there is a simple answer to this question. I find the whole time difference thing quite confusing but my instinct tells me that the optimized times are already Alpari UK time. Always worth asking these kinds of questions when there is the potential of losing hard earned pennies. :)

One definition of sans is that they are deceptive, uninvited contacts or promises designed to trick you into giving away your money or your personal information. Don't let them get you (http://www.consumeraffairs.govt.nz/scams/). Another combines them into a definition of a confidence trick, is also known as a con game, con, scam, grift, hustle, bunko, bunco, swindle, flimflam, gaffle, or bamboozle. The intended victims are known as marks. The perpetrator of a confidence trick is often referred to as a confidence man or woman, con man or woman, con artist or grifter. When accomplices are employed, they are known as shills. A confidence trick is an attempt to defraud a person or group by gaining their confidence. A confidence artist is an individual operating alone or in concert with others who exploits characteristics of the human psyche such as dishonesty and honesty, vanity, compassion, credulity, irresponsibility, naivety and greed (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confidence_trick).

By calling Forex Morning Trade a scam, you are calling Marc Fric a con artist.

While I also have not managed to get Forex Morning Trade to operate successfully, I do not consider Marc Fric a con artist.  In my view he tried his best to develop a successful EA, and in this case in my experience he failed.  There may be other people using different brokers and trying different settings through testing that have it working well, but not myself.

All I am pointing out is that there is a difference between a person who makes an honest effort to create something and does not succeed, and being a con artist who has only created a mirage.

Hammy used it with sucsess at the time. So did I.
The markets have changed a lot, and will change again. Many EA's have fallen out of favour because of this, but dont bin them completely, as they could again be very good sometime. This was a good bot, just not now.

I have also tried different settings on backtest recently, some exotic, like TP100, SL200,... or TP10, SL??? at different times with mixed results. Not that stable so far, but just messing about.

When the markets get more predictable, this could have its day again.

IMO, Johno is correct, the market has changed so that the FMT breakout time does not work with consistancy anymore with the set FMT indicators. But there are other breakout times that do work with FMT, but not with the 75% accuracy of 2 years ago.

I'm having "fair" success with 3 later start times, 7:00 NY (11:00 GMT), 8:30 NY (12:30 GMT), and 13:00 NY (17:00 GMT). Because of the choppy market I'm using settings SL=25, TP=15, BE=0 (BE=10 is optional) I'm getting some losing weeks, but always a winning month. It works much better than the Mark Fric default settings but for how long, who knows ? If I get a losing month, I look for better settings and start times, it's ongoing !

cheers !
